Doug Steele won a contested nomination last night to become the Saskatchewan Party candidate in Cypress Hills for the next provincial election.
“It really is an honour to have this opportunity,” Steele said. “I plan to keep working hard to earn everyone’s support in Cypress Hills.”
Steele is currently the vice President of SARM, Reeve for the RM of Gull Lake, and operates the 4th generation family farm. Steele has been involved in the community and area as a past member on the local Credit Union and School Board and currently sits on several boards including the Southwest Transportation Committee, Gull Lake Ambulance Board and several others.
Steele and his wife Phyllis, have three grown children and one grandchild.
“I am passionate to continue working on behalf of the people in my constituency,” Steele said.
Steele has been involved in politics at the civic level for 19 years.
“With the strong values of this government we can continue to have success,” Steele said. “I really believe that the Saskatchewan Party government is moving our province forward by continuing to build and expand on long term sustainable infrastructure for our communities and help meet the needs of the constituents.
Steele says he’s looking forward to running in the next election.
“I believe in the leadership and direction of Premier Brad Wall and the Sask Party and would like to be part of the team,” Steele said.
