The Shaunavon Standard, established in 1913, has covered southwest Saskatchewan events for more than a century. The award winning community newspaper is published every Tuesday by the Alta Newspaper Group Limited Partnership. Besides the Shaunavon Standard, this group includes two other community newspapers in Southwest Saskatchewan, the Maple Creek Advance Times and the Maple Creek News as well as six community newspapers in Southern Alberta: The Taber Times, Sunny South News, 40-Mile County Commentator and Cypress Courier, Vauxhall Advance, Lethbridge Sun Times and the Westwind Weekly News; two daily newspapers, the Lethbridge Herald and the Medicine Hat News, and two specialty farm publications, the Prairie Post and the Prairie Post West.
With a paid circulation of 1500, The Shaunavon Standard serves the communities of Eastend, Frontier, Climax and surrounding towns in southwest Saskatchewan.
