“We are excited to announce that Shaunavon Credit Union and Shaunavon Co-op will match community donations, dollar for dollar, up to a maximum of $10,000 from each organization or $20,000.00 in total,” says Kevin Braun, General Manager of Shaunavon Co-op. “Your donations will now be more effective, going even further towards the $45,000 needed to complete these important healthcare upgrades.”
“Shaunavon Co-op and Shaunavon Credit Union believe in the cooperative principles of cooperation among cooperatives and concern for community,” adds Chuck Gartner, General Manager of Shaunavon Credit Union. “We believe in this community and want to do our part to improve the healthcare services available here. We ask all Shaunavon and district residents to join us in investing in the future of healthcare for everyone in Shaunavon and area.”
Three new pieces of lab equipment are required to ensure the best possible laboratory service for area residents. For example, the Centrifuge is the cornerstone of any medical lab. It is absolutely essential and the unit currently in use in the Shaunavon Lab is nearing the end of its lifespan. The Hematology Analyzer will connect the Shaunavon lab to other medical staff in larger centres, and should eliminate the need for Shaunavon and district residents to have blood tests repeated on referrals, and quite possibly could mean the patient would not need to drive to another centre for those referrals. A Piccolo is used to complete blood chemistry analysis. It helps medical staff to make treatment recommendations, meaning treatment starts earlier and as we all know, early treatment leads to more positive results.
Shaunavon Co-op and Shaunavon Credit Union encourage everyone to consider making their donation soon. There is an account set up at the Shaunavon Credit Union where donations can be made and donations are tax eligible.
