Christmas Food Hampers were once again delivered in Shaunavon this year.
Organizer Kara Lacelle indicated that the hampers will reach 200 people through delivery to 72 households, up slightly from 69 in 2024.
Hampers were packed by volunteers on December 17 and delivered on December 18.
Salem Lutheran Church has organized these efforts for many years.
Lacelle said that Salem Lutheran Church Sunday School members, Rock Solid Refuge students, and individual community members provided volunteer help with packing and delivery of hampers. She said that donations were down somewhat from previous years, but support from both Christ the King School and Shaunavon Public School helped them to fill the hampers with groceries.
Drop-off locations were also available at local churches, the Red Apple store and Prairie Roads Market and cash donations were also received.
